The Wave Rider 29 redefines what we understand by softness and energy return. Thanks to the new Enerzy NXT technology infused with nitrogen, this shoe offers a smoother, more responsive, and stable ride. Designed for medium to heavy runners, it is as comfortable on easy runs as it is efficient at faster paces, without losing its versatile essence.
Midsole with more energy and comfort
The main novelty of the Wave Rider 29 lies in its new Mizuno Enerzy NXT midsole, a nitrogen-infused compound that significantly improves cushioning and energy return. The thickness has increased by 2 mm compared to its previous version, providing greater softness especially in the forefoot. The drop has been reduced to 10 mm, promoting a more natural and efficient transition.
Integrated Wave plate: stability that doesn't weigh
The classic Mizuno Wave plate is still present, although now integrated within the midsole for a cleaner aesthetic. Made from TPU and redesigned to follow the natural shape of the foot, it provides stability, control in the stride and helps to transfer weight smoothly from heel to toe-off. Ideal for maintaining a secure stride at different paces.
Technical upper, comfortable and committed to fit
The upper is crafted in seamless Jacquard-type Air Mesh, with great breathability. The gusset-type tongue is attached to the upper with an elastic band that wraps the midfoot and prevents displacement, ensuring a firm fit without generating pressure. Moreover, it is lighter than the previous version, enhancing the sensation of agility.
Sole designed to last and respond
The sole maintains the characteristic design of the range, with a pattern that enhances grip and durability on urban surfaces. Although the plate is no longer visible on the bottom, it still functions as an internal reinforcement that stabilizes and channels energy forward. An ideal balance between protection and reactivity on asphalt.
Sustainability as part of performance
The Mizuno Wave Rider 29 is a shoe 100% free of animal-derived materials. Additionally, the Wave platform is made with Elastollan® N, a plant-based material derived from biomass. Over 90% of the materials in the upper, laces, lining, and insole are recycled, making it a responsible choice without compromising performance.
