The Shimano Ultegra FC-R8100-P power meter crank is second to none when it comes to functionality and precision compared to its Dura Ace counterpart.

The integrated potentiometer sets the standard for power measurement with an optimized accuracy of ±1.5%. It measures the cadence data and the resulting values on both sides, i.e. independently for the left and right leg. Thanks to its design, data collection is free from external influences such as inclination, road surface or wind.

As the core element of the Ultegra R8100 series 12-speed drivetrain, the crank is characterized by typical Shimano shift quality and drivetrain efficiency. Not only the Hollowglide hollow construction chainrings, but also the lightweight crank arms, made with Hollowtech II technology, contribute to optimized power transmission as well as faster and more precise shifting operations. Taken together, this results in a perfect balance between stiffness, stability, low weight and rotational efficiency.

Different crank lengths and chainrings with 50-34 or 52-36 teeth also offer variability and an optimal gear ratio for almost all riding situations.

Hollowtech II

The guiding principle behind Shimano's Hollowtech II technology is the perfect balance between stiffness, stability, weight and rotational efficiency. The goal was to make a connecting rod that would minimize the effort required for the drive and allow more efficient power transmission.

An exclusive forging process allows the production of extremely light connecting rods that, however, guarantee maximum rigidity. The fixed connection of the right arm to the bottom bracket axis and its external bearing also serve for an optimal ratio between rigidity and low weight.
