Technical features

Midsole & elevated cushioning

The Mafate X incorporates a dual foam construction with a PEBA core on a supercritical EVA base. This results in great protection underfoot, especially in the heel area, while maintaining good energy return.

Forked carbon plate

Equipped with a split carbon plate (“forked”) that extends from heel to toe, designed to offer additional propulsion, improve stride transition, and provide stability without excessive stiffness.

Technical upper and protective design

The upper is made of ultra-light woven fabric with heat-sealed sides and reinforcements, including a rear heel counter that stabilizes the heel. It offers a good fit, reasonable ventilation, and protection against terrain elements.

Vibram Megagrip sole & intermediate lugs

The sole uses the Vibram Megagrip compound with lugs of approximately 3.5 mm, providing decent grip on various terrains: ideal for tracks, compact dirt, and trails with moderate conditions.

Usage profile and sensations

Especially designed for ultra distances or long training sessions, the Mafate X provides comfort on not very technical terrains thanks to its high cushioning, elevated heel profile, and push plate. However, its weight and high platform can be a drawback on very technical terrains or with many maneuvers.
