The Mizuno Wave Horizon 9 is engineered to provide very stable performance while running, with a construction aimed at runners who need greater control of their footstrike and a more secure base in each transition. It is a training model that prioritizes mechanical stability, protection and continuity of the stride during long runs.
Midsole construction
The midsole integrates an upper layer of MIZUNO ENERZY NXT and a lower layer of MIZUNO ENERZY. This combination aims to deliver a softer impact feel, maintain good responsiveness and, at the same time, support a firm structure under load to improve consistency of the footstrike.
Stability system
One of the model's distinctive technical elements is its Mizuno Wave asymmetric design, which works together with an integrated rubber wall on the medial side and a wide fit. This combination helps increase the overall stability of the shoe and reinforce control for runners with a tendency to overpronate.
Upper and fit
The upper uses Smooth Stretch Woven, a renewed material compared to the previous version that improves breathability and reduces horizontal stretch. This feature promotes better foot containment and helps maintain a more correct position during the run.
Interior comfort and durability
The shoe features a Premium Insock, a removable, comfortable-feeling insole, and an outsole with X10 compound, a high-strength carbon rubber that improves durability and traction, especially in the heel area.
