Every tube and section of the O2 has been designed and developed for maximum power transfer under load, but also vibration dampening for a more comfortable ride.
The O2 does all of that in style, with a slim profile that will subtly stand out in any rump. Elegance, all-day comfort and high performance come together.
The FACTOR O2 offers a high performance ride capable of meeting the demands of the fastest riders in the ProTour peloton. This is the result of meticulous geometry design work, optimization of the structural carbon fiber arrangement (for best power transfer with minimal weight) and careful selection of components.
Aerodynamic fork
Such a feat is the result of long hours of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) during the design phase, followed by numerous carbon placement prototypes and testing both in the lab and on the road.
The Svelte fork uses a tapered head tube with a 1-3 / 8 "lower bearing, with the crown integrated into the lower tube of the frame for increased steering precision and aerodynamic gains.
The disc version of the Svelte fork largely follows the shape and size of the rim brake fork, but with a slightly asymmetrical design and specific arrangement to resist the braking forces of the disc.
Power transmission
The continuous structure from the down tube to the O2 frame pod provides unsurpassed stiffness for minimal power loss and maximum drivetrain performance. Using larger and wider tubes with a more continuous shape allows us to use longer sheets of carbon fiber, for a stronger and lighter structure.
At the head of the power transmission is the BBright bottom bracket. We chose BBright as it offers the widest possible bottom bracket shell for a smoother, stiffer transition from the wide, asymmetrical downtube to the shoulder straps. All of this allows the carbon fiber sheets to be placed smoothly in this area, with high compaction, without sharp or thin shapes that add weight and decrease structural integrity. The asymmetric bottom bracket (narrower on the drive side) BBright also improves clearance with small chainrings and power meters.
A sectional cut of the case reveals the enlarged structure created by the reinforced connection between the down tube, the riser and the bottom bracket itself. Asymmetric high chainstays make use of the full available volume of the bottom bracket for additional stiffness at a low weight, leaving room for 28mm tires and large chainrings.
