The MET Manta MIPS helmet is a helmet that defines MET aesthetics and contemporary designs. It's as bright as the original but with a sharper look and feels more edgy.
The Manta MIPS is more aerodynamic than its predecessor thanks to its lower, tube-shaped profile at the rear, which was developed with specific wind tunnel tests in the NEWTON laboratory in Milan.

When a head rotates rapidly and comes to a sudden stop, the rotational acceleration can cause high levels of stress in the brain tissue. The tissue stretching caused by these movements can lead to several types of brain injuries.
We believe that helmets equipped with MIPS technology can add a higher level of protection against certain types of impacts.
MIPS uses a flat displacement system that moves inside the helmet, mimicking the brain's own protection system.
This layer is designed to rotate within the helmet in an attempt to potentially slow down or reduce the amount of energy transferred to or from the head. Science tells us that if we can reduce the stress associated with rotational acceleration, we could reduce the risk and severity of brain damage.
